Choosing a Linux OS
Hi there,
I would like to run a Linux OS but have no idea which to choose. I have run a fairly primitive version of Red Hat in the past, but I have not been able to make it my primary OS. It was always so much work to get anything working...namely the internet that I kind of gave up.
That being said, I don't want everything to be 100% GUI and automated (or I'd stick with windows - after I take a machete to it, it does what I want).
I guess I'm looking for that perfect Linux OS that combines good functionality with features that will allow me to learn the more intricate workings as I put in more and more time.
If someone could suggest an OS that has such a dynamic profile, or even point me in the direction of a resource that would help me make a more educated decision, I would be eternally indebted...if not at least grateful.
Cheers.
