What are the Best Java EE practices?

There are now dozens of books and hundreds of articles that provide insight into how Java EE applications should be written. In fact, there are so many resources -- often with contradictory recommendations -- that merely navigating this maze has itself become an obstacle to adopting Java EE. This article provides a good Best of the Best list of Java EE practices, but is it missing something important? Can you add to the Java EE best practices and provide some simple guidance for customers entering the Java EE world.
