lol same here with me, i want to get one of linux OS but i don’t know what to choose, really too many choices..Mandriva looks cool and Ubuntue 11.10 is cool too openSUSE is cool too really i don’t know what to choose :(
    (Note:windows 7 sucks, Mac sucks)

Caraca, o que é vista de capeta? O_o

  4. @djallinlucky Linux Mint is the easiest to use, very user friendly, and has an excellent hardware recognition. To my opinion, check the version 10 Julia or 11 Katya. You Tube: Linux Mint 11 Review - Linux Distro Reviews

    mandriva 2011 is a very nice OS(in my openion)…

  6. jesuisbenjamin says:

@trasmethrash perhaps, but in the end I use merely one environment and for now XFCE is doing very good, I especially like its flexibility (it even provides APIs like pyxfce, so you can hack in easily).

  7. jesuisbenjamin says:

@djallinlucky check unix.stackexchange, where they explain what to consider when choosing a distro.

  8. trasmethrash says:

@jesuisbenjamin there is always a chance you might like it if you try it

  9. @trasmethrash limit is 3.25Gb. Even Microsoft got tired that people complained that they see only 3.25Gb of RAM while they have 4, and MS made change on Windows 7 so it does report installed RAM amount, not what is usable.

  10. @isayuna5 There ain’t any “Windows distributions”…. Distribution is a name for software system what is packaged with chosen and preconfigured software specific target user in mind. The operating system in software system is freely distributable.

  11. @djallinlucky There is not “the best”. It is all about what you do need. Most people run after trends and media attention but never wanted to test and search the best technology what to use. They want “best” because someone else says so.

I would forget Ubuntu (and all its desktop variants) and focus to openSUSE, Fedora, Arch Linux, Debian or Mandriva.
But sometimes if user does not want to cut teeths to learn fast, they should pick one what friend has and learn slowly if never.

  12. 2050Future says:

    Wow this is cool. *_*

  13. @djallinlucky try newest fedora – i dont like ubuntu

  14. djallinlucky says:

  15. KDE,the best

  16. JoseRenanAO says:

stack folder looks nice, someone knows how I put dolphin’s scrool in KDE 4.7 installed on Ubuntu?

  17. adiccionaltrabajo says:

    Nice theme.
The Rosa Taskbar has a bug, sometimes icons turn upside down.

  18. jesuisbenjamin says:

there is something about KDE, i can see it’s good, but i really don’t get the feel for it :|

  19. @fardinproductionz Well, most are. Some, like iMagic OS, aren’t free. But IMO, there is really no reason to pay for a Linux distro, unless you are in a work environment.

  20. fardinproductionz says:

@kryssstynaaa all kinds of linux r free

  21. @kryssstynaaa Most of Linux distributions: Ubuntu, Debian, Fedora, Mandriva (versions One and Free). Whatever, if your interested in one of the comercial ones, like Mandriva Powerpack or Flash, the price is about 50 euros, against the 200 euros that cost Windows distributions.

  22. kryssstynaaa says:

What kind of Linux is free?!

  23. satsuinohado says:

    @trasmethrash 3.25

  24. @GileraXR1 I mean Pentium Pro, sorry :)
