Bargain-bin smartphones vault ZTE into the top 5 in U.S. market share

ZTE American Smartphone Market Share Analysis
The iPhone 5. The Galaxy S4. The HTC One. The BlackBerry Z10. These are the smartphones that we’ve been reading about obsessively for the past several months and are some of the American smartphone market’s heavyweight fighters. But while these big-name vendors have been rolling out their premier devices, Chinese smartphone vendor ZTE has been quietly flooding the U.S. market with low-cost smartphones that have now made it one of the five biggest smartphone vendors in the United States, Strategy Analytics analyst Neil Shah says.

Watch out, drivers: Apple plans to integrate Siri and Maps more deeply into cars with iOS 7

Apple iOS Maps Car Integration
Apple had better hope that its investments in iOS Maps yield some major improvements if it hopes to push its much-maligned mapping application into more automobiles. Unnamed sources tell 9to5Mac that Apple “plans to move aggressively into the in-car integration space later this year” and “is working with car makers to deeply embed iOS’s Maps and Siri services into cars.” Essentially, Apple wants to give drivers the ability to plug their iPhones into their cars and have them deliver turn-by-turn directions through a combination of Siri and iOS Maps, thus giving users a safer hands-free navigation option. All of which sounds good until you remember that Apple’s mapping application still has major issues, and it has even been blamed for stranding tourists in the Australian outback after they followed a set of faulty iOS Maps directions.

Anonymous claims to have broken into North Korean site Uriminzokkiri.com

Anonymous North Korean website hack

Anonymous is back in the news today for hacking into the North Korean web site Uriminzokkiri.com. The team has announced in a message that it has hacked into the service and acquired all the details of the registered users. How to believe this claim? Well, to prove that they have access to all the data, the team has provided details of six of the registered members publicly, and the published details show the email addresses, user names, birth dates, and hashed passwords.

“Enjoy these few records as a proof of our access to your systems (random innocent citizens, collateral damage, because they were stupid enough to choose idiot passwords), we got all over 15k membership records of www.uriminzokkiri.com and many more. First we gonna wipe your data, then we gonna wipe your badass dictatorship “government”.”

Out of these six accounts which have been made public, three are supposed to be Chinese accounts. The message continues, “North Korean government is increasingly becoming a threat to peace and freedom. We demand: – N.K. government to stop making nukes and nuke-threats, uncensored internet access for all the citizens and Kim Jong-un to resign”

Out of the six accounts, four accounts have Chinese email addresses and one is a Hotmail account. And another account is South Korean and is believed to belong to KEPCO KDN, a smart-gird systems provider that’s part of the Korea Electric Power Co.

“Don’t fear us, we are not terrorist, we are the good guys from the internet. AnonKorea and all the other Anons are here to set you free. We are Anonymous We are Legion We do not forgive We do not forget Expect us!” message read.

Did you have an account with uriminzokkiri.com? If you did, there is almost a 100 per cent chance that your account is hacked. But anyway, what are your thoughts on this hack by Anonymous?
