Everpad Integrates Evernote With Ubuntu Unity (AppIndicator, Lens)

Evernote is a note taking service in which the notes can be text, images, voice memos, handwritten notes or file attachments. There are Evernote clients available for Windows, Mac OSX, Android, iOS and WebOS, but there’s no official Linux client. On Linux, you can use NixNote (previously Nevernote), an unofficial Evernote client written in Java but if you want something lightweight, you should try Everpad, a new Evernote client that integrates nicely with Unity.

Those results from the Ubuntu 12.10 development snapshot are now available with the default Unity desktop being compared to KDE, GNOME, Xfce, and LXDE. In no test did the Unity desktop yield the fastest performance with nearly every time the default Ubuntu desktop being left in last place for performance.

Add Stacks To The Unity Launcher With `Drawers`

Drawers is an utility that lets you create stacks (drawers) on the Unity launcher, a feature that was often requested but it hasn’t been implemented in Unity, at least for now.
With Drawers, you can create launchers for Unity on which you can add applications, files, folders or links so you can, for instance, have a drawer for web browsers, one for work-related applications and one some important documents. This allows you to have a well organized, uncluttered Unity launcher while having all the applications/files you need just one click away.
